BA: LHR - Larnaca Info.

Mon Apr 10, 2006 8:51 pm

Hi, I will be flying to Larnaca on wednesday morning and was hoping that someone could give me some general information such as on board service, aircraft that is operating the route.

I have heard that it is a 763 but then on airliners.net someone said its an airbus 320 operating the morning flight and the 763 operates in the evening. Any information and advice on the flight and travelling through LHR T1 would be brill.

On the staff travel website its showing a 767

The loads are quite high on BA662 with only 9 left in Club and 9 left in Economy.

As it is quite busy why not check in on line then you can use fast bag drop and then youve got more time for looking at aircraft at T1!

Have a fab time

Cool, so its still down for a 767. Thats good as I haven't flown this yet and didn't really want another 320 flight. Although its my first flight with BA.

Hiya BMed, no I believe the morning flight is still on a 763.

I used to fly this route several times a year back in the days when BA flights into LCA arrived and left at the most ungodly of hours, but haven't done so in ages.

If things haven't changed you should expect a Club Europe equipped 767-300 with drinks and breakfast service.

it's about 4.5 hours or so, pushing 5, not too bad though. LHR T1 is pretty nice, better than T4 in many ways. The only thing is that the check-in area at T1 is pretty awful in my opinion so if you can checkin online before hand and then simply drop your bags when you arrive in the terminal that would be best.

Enjoy your time in Cyprus.

Correct, 763!

Last couple of days it has been operated by G-BZHB, G-BNWZ, but predominantly G-BNWB  silly

I thought all of BA's 763's have been upgraded to the long haul World Traveller standard to bring them in line with the 747's and 777's.

Am I correct or is it only certain 767's that operate the long haul routes which have been upgraded?

This is back to the old days again.
The flight is operated as a "shorthaul" flight because it was originally operated by BEA so I suspect that this is why it does not have flat beds etc.

I'm sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe not all BA 763s are ETOPS certified, so I guess it's only the longhaul aircraft which have been 'dusked'.
