Kingfisher First To Offer In-seat IFE On ATR

Sat Apr 15, 2006 3:07 am

Just found an interesting article on Kingfisher's ATR72-500 - the world's first western turboprop aircraft featuring in-seat IFE.

Kingfisher, which has a further 20 ATR 72s on option, announced last November that it had selected Thales’ TopFlight i-3000 distributed system for installation in the new aircraft.

The system delivers five video channels and 10 audio to in-seat screens throughout the aircraft.

Indeed a surprising move by Kingfisher - it will be interesting to see whether other turboprop carriers will follow suit.

Nothing's worse than flying the same reg twice!
