AF On Strike 17/04?

Tue Apr 18, 2006 2:53 am

Today, April, 17th, a few AF CDG-AMS-CDG flights were cancelled, apparently due to a strike at the AF maintenance department. Does anybody know if this is true and, if so, where is the dispute about?

Oh yes it was fun the strike seems to be affecting only the Airbus mx department and/or the pilots of those a/c. So they sent the B737 which takes a lot less pax: AF2141 left 30 pax behind, AF2243 about 10. Overtime for the rebooking team of KL at SPL!

I think it was a strike requested by on of the pilot union (SPAF)
for the 17/and 18 for the pensions,
but no real impact on traffic.

When is someone not on strike in France would be a better question.
Airline/ATC/Rail/cabbies take your choice. Imagine the U.S. airline industry or ATC system calling a one or two day strike and see how long that tactic lasts.
