Compass Airlines Logo

Tue Apr 18, 2006 11:45 pm

I was looking around the US Patent and Trademark office website, and I found the new logo for Compass Airlines.

Here is the link:

So I believe that they are affiliated with NW. Not to sure gotta do some research first.

Always good to have the same logo as the parent company. You would think they would actually use a compass rose or something to be original.

is this an NWA affiliated airline?

Compass will opperate NW's CRJ's currently running under NW airlink, and run their new either CRJ7 or E-175s, yet to be bought to replace their DC-9s. It lets them offer a slightly different service level, but more importantly cut crew costs. NW owns them.

One CRJ from I-fly from IAH-MSP to keep the Compass ops running till they get the new ERJ OR CRJ.

Hmm, like turning the compass circle into a C, but the font is way too unoriginal - it seems like something from MS Word as opposed to the mainline NWA font (which does have a tinge of uniqueness, albeit not excitingly so). I would have liked something involving the entire compass - sort of a take on how NW has a compass pointing to the northwest, but involving other directions, or maybe different colors. But if the jets themselves just use the NW or the NW Airlink livery, then this logo isn't important outside of the corporate world (how often do we see the real Mesaba and Pinnacle logos?)

Wow this logo's got to be the worst.
I think Ted is more original.

...kinda original, but not quite. Compass Airlines here in Australia back in the early '90s used a compass rose I believe, and their logo looks somewhat familiar too.

There aren't too many compass pics on the net, but I guess the best thing I can give you is the Wiki address: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compass_Airlines_%28Australia%29
