Another 757F Operator : Cygnus Air

Thu Apr 20, 2006 11:10 pm

ATW reports Cygnus Air will receive before year end 1 757F (+ 1 option) to replace DC8s working for Iberia.
This 757F will enter (F) conversion in July. Its identity is unknown at that time.
The future of the 757F is more and more bright.
Probably many more machines wil be (F) converted in the months and years to come , when big airlines will beginn to phase out them of their fleets.

I guess DHL took the lead on the 752F front and now everybody is following. Blue Dart in India just got its first 752F the other day.

It would be referred to as B752SF as its a Pax converted Freighter. The B752PF would be the Package Freighter produced by Boeing.

With the rise in fuel prices in the recent year and the outlook of consistently high prices for the coming years, it seems like a logical decision to look for a replacement for these classic, but unfortunately fuel-thirsty Douglas jets.

Since the IB group has a lot of experience with the operation of the 757, the introduction of this new variant should be rather seamless.
