The thing is, different markets have different demands. Things like p.s. have worked for them on LAX
, but outside of perhaps IAD
and an even a slimmer chance at BOS
, full 3 class service just isn't going to work. I have heard from UA
people that Ted has done well for them, but I am still incredibly skeptical about the costs involved in that. The explus concept actually helps them keep the product steady over a wider variety of flights, but I think that there are markets where explus is flying where mainline really should be doing the work (ORD
is a very good example). Again, keeping one product is a good thing, but there are times where that just isn't the optimal thing to do in a competitive market.
