EU Rights Re: Delayed Baggage

Does anyone know how delayed your baggage must be before you are entitled to compenstation under the EU's passenger rights?

I recently flew Air France to Delhi and my bags were delivered to me about 36 hours after my arrival. Am I entitled to any compensation?

24 Hrs,....providing your away from your home country, or intended to be in the country of the the problem, for less than 2 months....after 2 months your "a resident" of that country.

Different airlines have different policies...

Having experienced delayed baggage over 10+ times...
I find US airlines offer the least compensation... basically nothing.
"Old" government run european airlines are more generous.
Euro-Loco's... forget it.
So far in 2008 45 flights and Gold already. JFK, IAD, LGA, SIN, HKG, NRT, AKL, PPT, LAX still to book ! Home Airport LCY

EC Regulation 261 does not provide for compensation in these cases. Check your airlines conditions of carriage/contract.
