DL 561 Tmw - Where Does Plane Come From?

Sat Apr 29, 2006 12:10 am

Hey everyone:

I'm on DL 561 tomorrow -- leaving DFW at the insanely early hour of 5:30AM. I see it's an MD-88, but what I don't see is where the flight is coming from!
The last MD-88 into DFW the night before is from ATL at like 7:30PM. Does the plane really sit around DFW until the next morning?

Also, the gates are not right. As of now, the 752 from ATL is going into E13 at 1130pm tonight, and then 561 leaves that same gate at 530am.

My guess is that these planes are rotating into and out of a maintenance facility at DFW -- DL still has one there, right?

Anyways, if anyone can clear up, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Could well be, and happens to all airlines at all airports in all countries, so it is definitely not unusual  Wink .

Since DL has more RONs at DFW than gates, some planes will be pulled to a hardstand where they spend the night.

They had one, but they wanted to sell it, if they haven't done so already.

As regards DFW departures, looking at the DL timetable there don't seem to be any much after 7pm.

Must be quiet in the evenings there.

That MD-88 does sit overnight - as do the 2 morning 757s to ATL. DL has a bunch of planes at DFW that RON either at gates 12-15 or on the stand right behind the gates - which is where CO also overnights.

There is no MX done at DFW. The hangar is empty.

Great, thanks for the response! (I knew there were reasons I liked A.net aside from bitching back and forth over the Wright Amendment).

*Hopefully* this means that the thunderstorms that are supposed to roll through tonight won't delay us too much since I only have to worry about the outbound.
