If you're at Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airport on June 6, 2000, at the threshold of runway 25R, you'll see an Asian-looking, English-speaking teenager quarrelling fiercely with several men who speak some hardly-understandable English with a strange accent. Yes, you guessed it -- that teenager is me!!
Okay so what at all is the problem with foreigner-like teens like me spotting in Hong Kong. Is Hong Kong a city that does not welcome foreigners, or is it just those spotters being hostile. You might have read about this before, because I have already talked about it in this forum before. I have encountered some friendly HKG spotters up here on the net, but none down there at the airport.
I was just standing there. I hoped I could stay clear of them due to my past unhappy experiences with HKG spotters. I tried not to even be of any notice to them. Who knows when they wanted to talk to me, discovered that I didn't speak Chinese, and they wanted to kick me off the scene! I could hardly understand what they were talking about, since their accent was annoyingly strange. However, I knew what they mean from their attitude.
Now I can't see any valid reason for me to spot in Hong Kong anymore. What a shame -- Chek Lap Kok is a badly built airport, and yet to be destroyed by hostile spotters!!
Please, any HKG spotters out there!? Any foreigners experienced this before in HKG?
