707 and DC-8 were obviously there as well.

I'm not sure of the exact date when DFW opened but what other big birds had regular service at DAL?

I couldn't find any DC-10, 767, or 777 photos at DAL on the database. Has a 777 ever been to DAL?

This is sort of off topic but on FS9 it appears that there is room for a runway extension although I'm not familiar with the area I doubt this is so.

When did DFW open by the way and what was the "last" scheduled flight out of DAL from the legacies?

1974. The last scheduled legacy flight out of DAL was at 1845 local this evening on an AA MD80 to STL  Wink

There is a daily 767 in a freight configuration operated by Airborne.

DC-10s were common at DAL prior to DFW's opening; AA rigged special spotlights to show off its always-sparkling DC10s at the very end of the west concourse.

I believe (may be mistaken, but am pretty sure) that AA brought a 777 into DAL when they ran a publicity flight around downtown Dallas (very low, indeed- would never happen now, post-9/11) concurrent with the announcement of the naming-rights purchase for the AA Center, the arena at which the Dallas Stars and Mavericks play.

Delta's gates could accomodate Tristars. Since the L1011 entered service in 1972 and DFW opened in 1974, they probably visited DAL.

DAL has quite a history. Next year, it will celebrate its 90th bithday.

DFW opened on January 13, 1974. Prior to that date, Love Field had regularly scheduled service from 747s (American, Delta, Braniff), DC10s (American and a few Delta equipment subs) and L1011s (Delta).
