San Pedro Express Starts 6/3/06

Sat Apr 29, 2006 8:14 pm

New weekly seasonal charter service from MSY to SAP starts on June 3rd. The flight will be flown every Saturday through August 12th with a Miami Air B738.

This is nice to see. It will fill a gap before TA's hopeful return. There is still a huge Honduran population in the area, so this flight, especially since it will only be flown once-weekly, will likely get booked to capacity.

Good to see this. I am betting Taca is kicking themselves over this.

Well, if TA doesn't come back, I believe we'll see this go year-round...too much demand between the New Orleans area and Honduras to not have nonstop service of some kind.

Too bad we'll probably never see the good old days... My family and friends used these carriers for decades between New Orleans and Central America.

Why? If they were really upset, they just need to re-announce MSY, and this new charter operation would likely fold.

Actually, they are apparently planning on restoring service.
