Mon May 01, 2006 1:18 am

Just curious if anyone has heard if AA will be bringing back SRQ or VPS as maybe seasonal winter service next year? Thanks in advance...

AA.com doesn't show it in the schedule, they show SRQ as a American / connection city though. I hope they come back, MAH4546 will know.

As long as they are forced to serve Dallas Love Field, they will be unable to offer this service.

SRQ was being flown by American Connection. Has it stopped for the summer?

If it was successful last fall, I'd expect it to return.

Forced to serve Dallas Love Field? LOL.

Yeah, there's someone with a gun in AA WHQ, "SERVE DAL OR I'LL SHOOT THIS DOG!"

Puh-leeze. American made a choice. It's a choice they didn't want to make, but it's a choice nonetheless. Nobody "forced" them to do anything.
USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.

Well April 30 is the end of "the season" in SRQ, though at this point, a lot of people live there year round and the idea of a season is less important, but oh well.

CO is keeping their IAH-SRQ flight going this summer, at least so far. In the past, they have discontinued it for a period of time.

would that really have anything to do with the STL-SRQ and STL-VPS routes though since they were flown by American Connection carriers Trans States and Chautaqua? I think STL-DAL is flown on mainline.

I thought AA was keeping the STL-SRQ flight all year round. That is what I had heard and read. I could be wrong. And Please don't blame them on putting this on a seasonal flight because of service DAL. That is just way out their.....

VPS was supposedly part of a military contract that went unfilled. It more than likely will not be coming back in any way, shape, or form in the future.

SRQ reportedly did well for the first few months it was in service, but then again the same was said of VPS. So the return of SRQ is up in the air, IMO.

Sorry, no; I intended on being funny (at which I apparently failed); recall that AA was blaming every service reduction involving DFW on the Wright Amendment issue. I intended to call-up the absurdity of that situation.

Wow!!! Same could be said of a little airline some 26 years ago. But such 'suggestions' are derisively dismissed by it's Anet faction. Oh the hypocrisy of it all!!!

But I digress...

STL-VPS is gone. At this point, STL-SRQ is scheduled to resume, but AA is considering doing DFW-SRQ instead.

What about doing both?

Would DFW-SRQ be mainline? I'd take DFW over STL for my connections any day. Hope they do that instead of STL next winter.

too bad, maybe they should have tried PNS instead with its large naval base there and more traffic to fill the flight, it looks like AA has really been successful there with its Dallas flights
