My sister and I booked tickets to LIM
) in December on LAN Airlines. My sister had to change the dates since her work schedule got messed up. I've called at least 10 times to try and change the dates of the tickets. Every single time I receive a different response about changing the tickets. That is, after I've waited a week to hear the response. This means each time everything is postponed. We would've been set, but I received so many different ideas on the ticket restrictions that we figured we couldn't change the tickets without having to pay thousands. Now, I find a departing flight for the correct date. No problem, but the final flight, there isn't availability on the LAX
flight on AS
for our fare class. So I am unable to even hold the departure and LIM
return while they calculate the difference. I'm not allowed to book everything but the LAX
leg. So I hear back a week later and the difference is $2000. There is no way we would pay that much to change. Might as well fly first class or cancel the trip. No one is helpful at the call center and I can only make one request for the ticket to be recalculated. It's not like they can just look at their screens and suggest any flights that will get us from PDX
near the dates we want. We're being flexible up to the point of about 3 days on the departure and return. I have no idea what to. I have received no help from LAN. Now I've called and there is zero availability (for the same fare class) for June besides our original flights, which will not work. What am I supposed to do? LAN has done a terrible job of helping and it's their fault they don't get back to me so that I can't go ahead and book anything. I get different information every call. I guess we are just going to have to cancel the trip. If any of you have suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Or, if there is a way to get a refund if we cancel because of the terrible way LAN has done business. We decided to give them a try, but will never again. So much for one of the best carriers in Latin America.
