I wonder if there are any other shots of it in Google Earth at different places during different satellite scan periods...

I wonder why in Russian airports it is a common practice to tow aircraft into parking spots like that. Obviously the plane can't park like that by itself. Wouldn't it be easier to leave it on the main apron/tarmac than to have to tow it in and out for every flight and to refuel and load? Doesn't look like there's much on the main apron anyway.

It looks as if somebody has tried to hide or cover it ... look at the grey layer over the airplane ??? .. Strange. It is just a commercial airliner ...

I don't see any covering in the picture... looks like a plane and its trusty shadow.

Gostomel is Antonov’s home base. I don’t see any additional An-225 on the picture. I see what looks like two An-124, one on the apron that looks like it is going somewhere, and one in the group of aircraft in the south end of the apron. There is the nose of another big bird sticking out from the northern big hangar on the east side of the airport. It could be either one, perhaps the fabled second An-124 that is “being built”. There is no way to know from Google Earth what is inside the other big hangar. Most aircraft in the pictures do look like they were grayed out.

If you want to see some very interesting aircraft, head over to Zhulyany Airport nearby, closer to Kiev. Extra points there for the connoisseurs of Soviet/Russian/Ukranian aircraft. Coordinates 50 24 23 N, 30 27 34 E.

I thought the aircraft sneeking out of the hangar was the second An 225,considering the shape and inclination of the wings....

And it might well be! If there is one being built, it is either there or in the other hangar. My fault! I thought you said there were two additional An-225 somewhere on that airport. And I found two An-124 (I think.)

I found the other AN-225 it at a different airport (I have no Idea of Ukrainian Airports) that is on the north east side of the city. The plane has no wings.  Smile The airport looks to be a a former factory, very very large hanger. And judging from the Satellite, the airport is in poor shape. but still very cool to look at.
Sir, don't you think we should turn on the runway lights?" "No, that's just what there expecting us to do!"

the images from Google earth were compiled over 3 years and is still ongoing, therefore you could see the AN-225 in more than one place.

There is an AN124 on the ramp at Durban Airport in South Africa if anyone is interested in that.

There is some great US air force action at some bases around the US. Also you can see the ICBM missile silos at Vandenberg AFB, F E Warren AFB Minot AFB and Malmstrom AFB.

Go to Zaporozhie airport and you'll see many many Mig-25s and Mig-23s along with about 20 Il-76s all seemingly dumped. What a waste of good aircraft. I've noticed Ukraine has wasted alot of aircraft that were inherited by the USSR. Most military airports I've found on Google Earth in the Ukraine has so many Migs and transports just sitting there dumped. And then we wonder why Russian planes are getting rarer.

Ti717 was right. The other An225 is being built as Svyatoshino. The fuselage outside the hangar, however, looks shorter, more like the An124. I used the measure function of Google Earth, and it does look like it's an An124 fuselage. And there is a wing next to the fuselage. Could someone people here who knows more than I do about wings tell us what wing it is? If I had to guess, I'd say the An224 is still in the same hangar where Ignatiy Savranskiy photographed it.
