Jet Blue PTV's

Tue Jun 13, 2000 6:15 am

my question is: How does the payment ($5) for the Jet Blue PTV's work. I would like to know as I will be flying with them in August.

Credit card swipe on the head rest directly in front of you. Unless your snorting crack, you shouldn't miss it.

Damn I haven't been on Jetblue's 320, Even on coke or crack you should stumble over the credit card swipper, that guy must really be spaced out.

why they ask for $5 to use the PTV????? i think it's rediculous......imagine CX and SQ ask for $5 to use their PTV.....hahah......
i mean if they install thePTV.why not just let their customer use it for free like all other airlines????? i think by asking for $5 it makes the airline looks a bit like they are money hungry.....

Let's not forget, JetBlue is a discount airline, not a
full service carrier. Fares are anywhere from 20%
to 40% below the majors so you should expect to
pay for what is essentially a perk on a discount
carrier. They do serve some light snacks I hear,
and they are quite good.

All the food they serve is blue. I heard they served stuff like blue MNM's and Bluebery muffins!

Everyone here is terribly misinformed.
1) Someone on crack or coke would never find those credit card swipes on the PTVs.

2) None of JetBlue's food is blue. They used to serve blue M&Ms but no longer. Now the choice is bagel chips or potato chips. I can assure you neitehr is blue

3) B6 is anything BUT money hungry. The airline is the most highly funded new entrant ever. Remember however, that B6 is far from a Cathay or Swissair. Its a low cost airline that installed PTVs as a gimmick to win customers from MetroJet and Delta Express.

The Potato Chips Are Blue!

yes, u can pay cash, the FA's will take it.

no more blue m&ms, as they made the carpets a mess (they only lasted about a week)

we do have BLUE potato chips, im eating some now as a matter of fact   they are quite good. we also have bite size blueberry muffin chips, and bagel chip mix, which is not blue.

ok i'm from HK so i dunno that JetBlue is a discounted airline......but i still dun see the point why they have to spend all the money installing the PTVs and the charge you for the using them......if according to TWAneedsHELP that JetBlue is "The airline is the most highly funded new entrant ever........Its a low cost airline that installed PTVs as a gimmick to win customers from MetroJet and Delta Express...." then why they charge you for the use of their PTV if they are 'highly funded' and want to win customer???? anyway.....maybe if this is a gimmic.....why not just let the customers use it for free...i think this will have a more positive view towards the airline.....

anyway......cheers!!!!!!!

Jeez... show me another airline that'll provide a TV for a BUF-JFK flight at ANY charge. We're not talking a transatlantic journey. It's an hour and change flight time.

I just flew JFK to BUF on jetBlue and the PTVs were free. Is this just temporary? Or will the PTVs be free on all short flights. It is not worth it to pay $5 for a 50 min flight.

For the month of June, PTVs on all JetBlue flights are FREE, courtesy of DirecTV. AviationLawyer, how did the loads look on the JFK-BUF route look? Full plane?

Jet Blue will have to serve a bit more on JFK to California flights than just muffins and stuff!

jet blue didnt pay for the ptvs to be installed, the cost was shared by jet blue and direct tv. Since direct tv wants to make some money, they will charge for usage. how many other airlines allow you to watch live tv! it would suck to watch live coverage of the plane you are in being shot at by the feds because it was high jacked wouldnt it?
