May 3 (Bloomberg) -- Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA, the world's fourth-largest aircraft maker, won an order for 50 business jets worth $140 million from JetBird AG.
Zug, Switzerland-based JetBird ordered 50 Phenom 100 jets with an option for another 50 that can be converted for Phenom 300 jets, the two companies said in a statement sent by e-mail. JetBird, a start-up company that plans to offer executive air travel in Europe, will begin service in 2009 in Switzerland using the Embraer aircraft.
Wow, it's been a good day for Embraer. First the launch the Lineage 1000, then they get a 50+50 order for their new year-old product line.
