Song At SJC Yesterday

Sitting on 880 last night at about 7 PM I saw Song 757 landing 30L. Anyone else catch it? I'm guessing this is part of cycling them back into mainline service?

(nice to see 757's back on the ATL route - we only see about 3 a day now, 2 from UA and the one from DL)

I saw a Song 757 at the terminal Tuesday, and thought the same thing. I was there pretty late (9:30 p.m.) so assumed it was RON.

DL now regularly schedules an ex-Song 757 into SJC. Flight 955 from ATL-SJC will be operated by a Song 757 for a while. Under DL's schedule it is cited as a 752, instead of the usual 757 which DL 757 usually operate on mainline routes. It's flight 1254 SJC-ATL in the morning.

How come it doesn't do the return - red eye instead of the 738? That seems like it would make more sense? Or did DL stop the red eye SJC-ATL flight?

There is still a redeye from SJC-ATL, and as you said it is operated by the 737-800. The aircraft arrives from ATL at 10:03PM and heads back at 10:50PM. I don't exactly know why DL sent the 738 on the red-eye instead of the 757 but I would guess that the 7:25AM flight from SJC-ATL with connections to Europe would have higher demand than the red-eye SJC-ATL flights.
