Interesting link! Looks like those F-class seats are the new ones from Korean Air?
I would love to get that safety card  Wink

I know this is only a virtual flight, but I noticed that the windows on A380 look very large, even larger than B787 windows. Is it the case? or it's only an illusion?

Cheers,

Why only 474 seats? I thought Airbus would install all 555 since that's suppose to be the "standard three-class" layout...

Would love to be on that "flight" though!

I think the A380 windows are large but not as big as the 787 or A350 windows but they do look rather large in that image.

Airbus has also another reason to be happy. It has reached it's 10,000 Flight Cycles Fatigue Tests.

http://www.airbus.com/en/presscentre...5_10_A380_cabin_fatigue_tests.html

Another major milestone was reached in Dresden, Germany, where fatigue tests on the A380 reached 10,000 flight cycles. The test examines the A380’s structural behavior by simulating structural stresses over a very condensed period of time. The tests are performed in purpose built hangar equipped with hydraulic cylinders to simulate structural load. The tests in Dresden started in September 2005 and will continue to run to 2008 to simulate 47,500 flights in total, including short and long-haul missions.

“These two major milestones are underlining the excellent progress of our A380 test programme, “said Charles Champion, Airbus COO and Head of the A380 programme. “The result of the cabin test has shown that all systems were running smoothly. The feedback from our passengers was excellent. They enjoyed the wider seats and the unprecedented feeling of space, as well as the quietness of the cabin environment. Also the tests in Dresden are on a very good track. 10,000 flight cycles is already twice as much as we need for certification.”

The A380 is the most modern airliner in the world and is designed to carry an average of 555 passengers over distances up to 8,000 nm/ 15,000 km. To-date, 159 A380s have been ordered by 16 customers. The first A380 is due to be delivered to first operator Singapore Airlines before the end of the year.

Looks like the A380 has been gathering some good feed back.

I thought so at first but the girls don't wear hats at LH (AFAIK) - and the guy looks like he has a yellow tie on - the ties are blue (again, AFAIK)

How about on "how quiet it was".... When I read that, I just laughed! Of course it's quiet without engines running and airflow noise!

That photo of the female LH f/a holding the instructional card isn't very flattering...she has the facial expression of a "Stepford Wife."  Smile

The exposure is set for the interior lighting so the brighter windows are overexposed. You're seeing the whole frame lit up, not just the transparent part.

I don't normally post messages, but I had to comment on this photo. Does the FA look like she's from the Interflug staff of the sixties?  Smile

What do you expect her to do? Grinning? I thought that was supposed to be a safety demonstration, and a little earnestness is not a bad thing, really. And please excuse Airbus for not choosing the most attractive LH employees.  Yeah sure

I'm really surprised they're doing a live demo! I can certainly see where there might be a cabin obstacle, but with videos, screens of all sizes and AVOD, live demos in full uniform went out about 1975. Let's get real and have video all over!

Someone explained in another thread that the interior opening is wider than the glass, so it tapers. This makes it seem bigger as light reflects off the surfaces, but the windows aren't much bigger than windows on other jets otherwise.

At least this was how it was explained.

That cabin could have been installed on either MSN002 or MSN007. AFAIK, both of those are going to EY, so perhaps EY chose a cabin with less than 555 PAX, unless this is not the cabin EY wants on their A380s.

I was trying to get a better look at the safety card. Does one have to push a button after moving the door control lever up to open the door? It looks as though there is an extra step to open an armed door than other airbus aircraft. Does anyone have any insight to this? I was just curious.

I was surprised to see that too. But apparently, yes....apparently there's some sort of ultracapacitor system that can be activated as the power-assist to open the door if it doesn't automatically open. Replaces the penumatic power assist.

If anyone has a clear scan, back and front, that would be awesome to see.
Release your seat-belts and get out! Leave everything!

These test flights that they do with real passengers, is there a way of getting on one or do we have to wait until the end of the year?

Thanks
