2x L10 for pax service, at least 1 freighter. No scheduled flights at the moment. Apparently HKG route was dropped as some chinese travel agencies switched back to OX due to 9I's constant delays.

The ex-Phuket piece of junk has been re-registered to HS-VAV again, so I assume they sent it back.

Orient Thai's "new" B747-146B/SR/SUD HS-UTM is in service by now though, something to think about if a ride on the L1011 proves to be too difficult to find.

Talking of Orient Thai, how are they performing with the 747's, some of them are very old but they do have a 747-300 which must be a bit more reliable. They appear to have quite alot of flights with the 747's. are they allways full, the tickets are prob very cheap too i guess.

Anyone with more info on Orient Thai

Many Thx

Interesting. I can see a 747 with Thai Sky tail titles from where I'm sitting, is that the ex-Phuket bird? I can't see any more of it, and I was wondering when Thai Sky got a 747.

So many engines missing from some of those 747s, it looks creepy. when riding a bus out on the tarmac around them to get to your Orient Thai/thai Sky 747

Also the scenes when you see them paint the tails on the newly received OX 747s, they just paint them in the bare sunlight with wooden platforms with bamboo stilts.

I think thats the worst way to paint a plane.

Flew jumpseat on the Thai Sky L1011 last fall roundtrip between HKG and BGK...Great flight, the captain was an ex Delta guy who commuted to HKG from LAX...Load factor was poor one way and three quarters fulll the other...

OX 747s aren't missing any engines. 9R's HS-VAK is (was??) a spares source, looks horrible. HS-VAV indeed still has Thai Sky Airlines titles.

Orient Thai Airlines (OX) 747 fleet:

HS-UTC LN 341 B747-238B (ex. QF, UA)
HS-UTD LN 259 B747-146 (ex. JL)
HS-UTJ LN 361 B747-246B (ex. JL)
HS-UTK LN 600 B747-306M (ex. KL)
HS-UTL LN 611 B747-3B5 (ex. KE)
HS-UTM LN 655 B747-146B/SR/SUD (ex. JL)
HS-UTP LN 196 B747-246B (ex. JL)

Gone:

HS-UTB LN 192 B747-246B (ex. JL, CC), Stored CGK maybe?
HS-UTH LN 199 B747-146 (ex. JL), Stored CGK for sure
HS-UTI LN 255 B747-246B (ex. JL), Spares source at BKK

One-Two-GO (OG) fleet:

HS-OMA MD82
HS-OMB MD82
HS-OMC MD82
HS-OMD MD82

6 more should be coming.

I would assume UTP is the next to go, it's the oldest pax 747 flying AFAIK apart from some BA 741s maybe still flying for KABO or whatever that nigerian thing was. UTD had a heavy check in CGK so should be around.

Interesting to know that OX still has a bit of everything: 741, 742 and 743.

Anybody knows what routes OX deploy each 747 type? Thanks in advance.

Any route since they all have the classic cockpit, so no crewing issues.

But they only fly

OX 200/203 BKK-HKG-BKK (overnighting at HKG)
OX 300/301 BKK-ICN-BKK
OX 310/311 HKT-ICN-HKT

And a bunch of military, refugee, Hajj etc charters.

HS-UTM seats 563 by the way.

I counted 4 747s with atleast one missing engine and some with missing nacelle covers like 2 weeks ago on the tarmac. they were Orient thai. They just use the cargo area as an open GSE shop, ooops I mean Aircraft Maintenance Shop

Well there were none yesterday apart from UTK undergoing an engine change (by TG maintenance). The worst looking jumbos at BKK (ex-GA Phuket 742s) are all parked at CGK with mostly Saudia tails. Apart from HS-VAK that is - it's the most disgusting looking 747 I've ever seen.

I guess YMMV when it comes to the state of OX aircraft you spot. One day all in pieces, next day flying...

The MD82s have pretty nice interiors, but I wonder who did the maintenance in CGK...

Yeah, and the newer seats with adjustable headrests.

Lion Air also has CO interiors - so one would expect them to be similar. Well, the seat covers looked the same. Otherwise HS-OMA/OMB looked factory fresh compared to those Lion planes with absolutely everything broken, dirty, scratched etc. Big grin

I was in jakarta recently, and saw 2x 747-300s with the old coloured Saudi tails (I assume Phuket Airs) and two 743s with Phuket titles.

I also saw an ex-KLM 747-300 in basic KL colours. Is this an OX or a different one?

RE: Thai Sky Airlines

Thai sky air currently has no scheduled flights because Thai government stops 9I's flights include BKK-ICN 3/w for one month, approximately 04/21~05/28. 9I is famous for "delaying", and there were few more problematic airlines which also delays really often in Korea. So Korean government inspected the airlines suddenly, and there were several critical maintenance problems. After that, a cambodian airline, RK, stopped flying ICN, and Korean government also claims to Thai government to do something, so Thai government pauses Thai sky airline for one month.

I heard that Phuket air will change the name of airline and will try to come to Korea again, but I believe Korean MOCT will not admit it.
