Website To Find Registration Numbers?

Fri May 12, 2006 12:59 pm

Hey everyone,

Is there a website or any online source to find out the registration number of an aircraft you flew on??

Earlier today (11 May), I flew AA flight 1001 DFW-COS on a Super 80, and we were out of gate C-8 in DFW which means you can't really even see the plane itself, much less the N-number, so if anyone can please tell me the registration of the aircraft, and any websites I can use to find this out myself in the future, I'd much appreciate it!!

Try www.flightaware.com enter the flight number and date you flew. It may help you. Good luck

Hey, thanks. That's a pretty cool website, but unless I missed one of the features, it didn't say the actual a/c registration. It just said MD-82, but it didn't give the N-number. You know where I can find that??

US Airlines file by flight numbers, and not aircraft registration numbers (since we swap aircraft around all the time) so any ASD-based service like FlightAware isn't going to show it.

Other folks have previously posted a link for another government site that shows specific registrations for flights (about 30 days after the flight occurred, IIRC), but I can't recall the address. You might try a search, including a search of archived civil aviation...

Bad link.  Sad

Good link.  Smile

However, this site is somewhat limited as there is no option for international destinations, or Canadian destinations for my case!  wink

Yet, that site should suffice for your purposes and intentions.

Hey these are pretty sweet websites, but neither of them give specific registration numbers........

That flight global one says MD-82 for aircraft, but when you click on the linked "MD-82" it just shows you all of the ones currently in the air.

Does anyone have access to www.acarsd.com ?? If you do, could you please look this up for me?!?!? 11 May 2006, AA flt#1001, DFW-COS, a/c Super 80, just looking for specific N-number (I would look this up myself, but I think I'm having incompatability issues with the website)

Thanks in advance~

The BTS website does show tail numbers. However, as stated ealier they are delayed for a couple of months. You just need to go back when available and the reg will be there. I track all of my domestic flights' registrations this way.

As said, it doesn't carry international, and I've not been able to find another site that does.

The only way I am aware of getting this information before posted on this site is to have employee GDS access to certain partitions within the system.

This appears to be a domain registration site. Not sure if that is what you meant to post or not.

Heh...my mistake. Here's the actual site: http://www.acarsd.org/

Just go to the "ACARS Search" link in the left-hand menu. I'm still having incompatibility issues with it....it just doesn't display anything when I search it. So, if anyone else can, please do let me know what the n-number is!! See my above posting for the flight info. Thanks a bunch.

Did you download it or are you using the browser version? If browser...

javascript must be enabled to see ACARS live

I searched, but only shows
N242AA MD-82 02/05/2006 19:40 AA1001 AUS-DFW-COS

Not sure if they are using int'l date format or not, so it's either a Feb 5 or May 2 flight, but no other flights showed.
