I am afraid I have to disagree. I really like CX's c/s, and the aircraft doesn't look very shiny, a bit "dirty". I guess that's because it had been painted before, just like AC bare 767.

I too think it's a bit like the infamous AC 767... not too good.

I like this "stripped paint" scheme. A much better buffing job than Air Canada did with their B767's.

Cathay should have left the white bird in from of Cathay Pacific Cargo, IMO. The Green and red cheatlines under the nose don't work.
What is it? It's A 747-400, but that's not important right now.

I like it. It looks different from the rest of the pax fleet.

With the rising fuel costs, I wonder if the bare metal c/s will be the norm to cargo operators in the near future.

It looks like they copied or borrowed the plane from JAL Cargo.

Why does that tail remind me of the USPS logo?

Is this a test or does CX plan to strip the paint from all freighters? I like those bare metal 747s if the operator keeps them clean like JAL does. Northwests original freighters on the opposite look like they´ve never seen a real good polish since they were delivered 30 years ago.

Not only that, but I think the JAL silver bodies look much better. CX is one of my favorite airlines...but I like their full paint much, much better.

Oh no, that looks very, very old-fashioned.

Cathay Pacific had one of the nicest liveries.

Stop it please, it looks as bad as the AC 767...

It looks nothing like the AC 767... that was a complete mess.

Cathay are not doign this to look pretty!!.... they are doing it to save money and yes all freighters will be like this. B-HMD goes this weekend to Xiamen and the 1st ex SQ 744BCF arrives in June. B-HIH will now start service in the 2nd half of June.

As for looking like the USPS logo.......

Anyway, if you don't like.... don't take any pics  Smile

Outstanding looking plane. I am really tired of white paint jobs. The only way to improve it would be to paint a Strategic Air Command star ribbon and shield across the nose area...

I like it a lot. I'm not so fond of the current pax 744 livery - I think the greenie-grey comes too far up making the plane look a bit grubby. It's alright on A330/340 and passable on 777s where it's really only the belly that is that colour. I personally would like to see a new colour scheme for CX - shiny metal would be a good choice IMHO. I dare say I'd be in the minority though.

I'm not sure the green on white really goes together well, but I actually like it. It is very different and they did a good job on the polish.

They still have that livery. It's just that on one cargo plane so far, (any more to come??), the white paint was changed for bare metal.

I like it. I am not a fan of boring plain white liveries with the smallest possible colour additions. Something which stands out in a negative way however, is the grey-plugged windows. They look weird.

The current plan is for the entire freighter fleet to be done. Next is the all white 747-200F B-HMD, which departs for XMN tomorrow.
