World has really no connection with the former World Airways.
Other than the fact that it has continuously been operating for 58 years? This is absolutely the same company that Ed Daly ran, and has evolved organically rather than shut down and restarted with different people like, say, Pan Am 3 or Braniff 3. It has changed majority owners over the years, and its senior executives have come and gone, but it *is* the same company. Heck, just last year, they just flew Ken Healy, the captain of the famed Last Flight From DaNang, back to Vietnam with a group of other pilots, flight attendants and staff that were part of the operation in 1975, to commemorate Operation Babylift, which Ed Daly did in defiance of the State Department. Are they a different, less-personality-driven carrier than they were when it was Ed's place? Sure. But it really is the same company.

State Farm does yearly incentive worldwide charters for its agents
There were a couple of threads on here last year about the State Farm charters. World took the business away from Delta, which had handled it the previous year. Apparently, State Farm was impressed at how flexible World was in responding to their requests, and the pax were happy. Clipper002, who is an expert on this stuff, indicated that the program actually required more than two aircraft to pull off, and there was a lot of aircraft down time, so they would have to see how profitable the whole thing was, what the AMC demands would be, and whether it was worth doing again. I guess they decided that it was worth doing again this year.
