Wed May 17, 2006 10:06 am

Quick question, how many passengers can fit in the WN 737-700?

Quick reference is it is fitted with 149 seats.

Nope, a WN 737-700 is fitted with 137 seats.

Why?

Just for comparison's sake most airlines with 2-Class layouts on 737-700s have 12F + 112Y = 124 seats.

Interesting.....do they pick up the extra seats (when compared to AS/AQ/CO) because the Business Class has less legroom, or because of less galleys/lavatories in the back, or a combination of both?

I know WN has a 'small' galley and one lav while AQ has 2 lavs and a 'large' galley.

All WN aircraft have two lavs, 1 aft and 1 foreward.

The AirTran 73Gs have three lavatories vs. two on Southwest. However, AirTran has only one galley rather than two. AirTran has less pitch than most but the seats are wider than many (hence a narrower aisle).
I work for Southwest, but the views expressed are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Southwest.

I have to say SWA has some very nice seat pitch. I flew on a SWA 733, and a HP 733. The HP i couldnt cross my legs. But SWA I was. Very nice.
