Harmony Adds YEG-OGG Flights.

Thu May 18, 2006 1:35 am

Just found out Harmony will be adding Edmonton-Maui flights starting in Dec and running until Apr using 757s twice per week nonstop.Thank god as this has been a busy route in the past for C3 who used A330s until there demise and has meant I have had to fly to YVR to make the AC flight.
Guess what???I dont like you either...

I cannot believe they are doing this. Skyservice and Conquest had a hell of a time trying to fill a plane out of YYC and YVR, a few years back on a 330. Then Sunquest did the same thing out of YYC and only did a tech stop into YVR to get more fuel. And they couldn't fill the 757. Will be interesting to see if they keep this flight as planned or cancel it halfway through the season.

Great news...

I've often wondered why Harmony only flew out of YYC - it's nice to see them coming to YEG. (I fly to Hawaii every spring - it'll be nice to have a direct flight again....)

Cheers

Well times have changed,HMY currently flies from YVR and YYC to OGG and HNL on a year round basis and the flights are doing very well using 757s.When I travelled to OGG in JAN from YEG half the people on my connecting A320 were also on my AC 763.Lets also remember with all the disposable incomes in Edmonton and Calgary right now thanks to the ''new'' oil boom many people are getting away in the winter and the Island has been missing from alberta skeds for a few years now.Back in the mid late 80s Wardair flew 747-200s from both YYC and YEG to both Hawaiian points and did well then, both cities now also boast populations of over a million people living in each city so I think we will see satisfactory loads on these flights,I can safely say I will be one of them this upcoming winter.
