How To Find Out The Load Of A Flight

Thu May 18, 2006 6:45 pm

Hi all, is there a possibility to check the load of a particular flight? I know it was possible, but now I can't find/remember these sites.

This sunday (May 21th) I am on VS 300 LHR-DEL? What about the load. Is it possible to check in online with virgin and to choose your seat?

Flights are available for online check in from our departure airports in the UK, US, South Africa, Australia and China from 24 hours to 2 hours prior to scheduled departure. The following routes are not available for online check in: flights to and from Nigeria; and flights from India and the Caribbean.

Check in formalities, including boarding card collection, baggage drop and security screening, will be completed at the airport. Please note the Bag Drop desk will close 60 minutes before your flight's scheduled departure time. Passengers who have failed to drop their bags and collect their boarding pass by this time will not be able to travel.*

You can check-in online for LHR-DEL, but not DEL-LHR. However I think the system sometimes allows online check-in for DEL-LHR, so try it.
If you want to see which are the best seats on VS' A340-300s, have a look on Seat Guru
For more info about your flight, it might be worth checking this site:

As for loads, I don't have exact figures, only this GDS availability - though someone on should have exact figures.

Virgin Atlantic VS300
London (LHR) May 21 10:00 pm
Delhi (DEL) May 22 11:15 am
Flight Time:
Airbus A340-300
J4 D4 Z4 S7 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X7 N7 0 0

There seems to be a fair amount for availability left, so the flight is probably not very full, though this is just an estimate.
I hope this all helps.
I hope you write a trip report - have good trip!
