Cancel the flight because they can't get the word off the mirror? Why not just lock the lav?
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Could they just have a mechanic remove the mirror or I don't know, tape some cardboard over the mirror.
Good Luck to all Skyway Pilots! It's been great working with you!

I think that it was more 'fear of a bomb onboard' than a case of upsetting the passengers. I guess in this case it was the right action to take, however it seems that a pathetic low life thuaght it would be a laugh. I will never understand some people.

On a lighter note, I did wonder if at first upon reading the thread, Whether Mark Ecko was a passenger and this was another crazy new advertising scheme  Wink

Kev.
The white zone is for immediate loading and unloading of passengers only

"All passengers and crew left the plane safely before the search, which found nothing suspicious.

Authorities at the Massachusetts Port Authority, which runs the airport, said the airline might cancel the plane's return to Washington because of the difficulty removing the word from the mirror."

The airplane was cleared of any risk, so just cover the mirror and be on your way.

I understand US's move in delaying/canceling the flight. In this day in age, even if you told passengers the plane had been searched, there would be some that were still a little leery. I think they were probably playing CYA...

if you told passengers the plane had been searched, there

Why tell them anything? The plane landed as scheduled, everyone got off, they searched the plane, nothing found, case closed. There should be no reason at all for a departing passenger to be any the wiser. The TSA lady quite rightly said it was a "non event".

Paranoid reaction I'm afraid.

The stuff these vandals are using to edge the words into glass is quite dangerous. I do not remember the name so I haven't classified it but I could imagine that it is a dgr item. It should nbot be on a plane, especially not in the hands of vandals.

They should have searched the passengers bags.

edit
UN ID 1790 when I am not mistaken, up to 60% solution 1 Liter andover 60% 0m5 liters, but only when properly packed.

Hope the TSA guys checked that.

"Beginning December 22, 2005, scissors with a cutting edge of four inches or less and tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers smaller than seven inches were permitted on board aircraft departing American airports."

I'm not disagreeing with you-- but I could just see all the ways people could spin something as minor as this into a lawsuit. I don't blame US for not giving them the chance...
