That cheatline looks nice.

The RR engines though doesnt look as good. They should have colored the cowling.

By today's standards, that's a pretty retro c/s. I like it, but the titles could be a little larger - it's like they're whispering to us.

Either Airbus messed up the order or they asked for RRs.

The titles could be a bit bigger, apart form that a very nice colour scheme, IMO.

Hope rumours are right and the birds finally show up at ZRH...

Cheers

I agree with the comments on the livery. Their current one is dull and derivitive. I would like to see them do something bold and really stand out.

Their marketing and service model is a combination of SQ and LH.

And as a young airline trying to attract international business travellers whose perception of India may be palaces, tigers, chaos and poverty, all encased in bright technicolors, they're going uber conservative to showcase a ship-shape, western oriented airline with the "exotic" element provided by their attractive and young all-Indian cabin crew.

Those are not the airline's titles, those are the subtitles Big grin haha, just kidding.

I just wanted to point out those titles are very small. They should be bigger. And yes, the cheatline is awesome. That's something you don't see that often anymore.

I don't know if it's the angle of the photo, the uber-small titles, or what. . . but I have to say that is the first time I've seen the A330-200 and the Jet Airways livery look ugly.

I usually like the looks of both, but together they do not go together at all!

I think a reason for that is that we havent seen the livery on suck a long plane. Except for their A343's which they have leased. Most of the time this livery is seen on the 737, and thts why its looking so strange.

IMO, it looks great! true symbol of 9W! Great!

I agree with the others that the titles are far too small for the airplane.
Other than that I hope to see 9W at YYZ in the next few years.

What do you expect from an airline that calls itself 'Jet Airways' ? Imaginative livery?

It actually looks worse in real life...saw a 9W 340 once at LHR...

I think the CEO came home one day with two crayons and asked his kids "Draw Papa a plane" and after they finished, he said "Now draw me some flight attendants"...

Jet Airways is the best airline in India and has been for the past few years. Their livery is a simple yet easily recognizable scheme.

IMO, they don't need to make a bold statement with their livery to stand out, their quality speaks for themselves.

The cheatline makes the A332 look longer. Its actually a rather good looking livery on that plane.

Do i sense some 9W bashing? What an ignorant statement. Do you even know anything about the airline? Let alone flying it? Talking about names how about :
Jet Blue
Air Evac
Air Midwest
Air Gumbo
Ameriflight
Arrow Air
Delta Airlines
Empire Airlines
GoJet airlines
MaxJet
Scenic Airlines
Sky Bus Airlines
Ted
These are just a few airlines out there in the world today. Hows that for stupid names?

And as far as the F/A's go.... have u seen them? that you ridicule their looks? I think they are far far better than alot of the "old" and "out of shape" F/A's flying in "well known" airlines which everyone keeps talking about. And trust me, on 9W, you will definately get a full can of soda!  Wink
For your benefit, i have some info on 9W :

"Jet Airways was established on 5 May 1993 with a fleet of 4 Boeing 737-300 aircraft, with 24 daily flights serving 12 destinations. Its 44 destinations include most of the big cities in India. International destinations include Kathmandu, Colombo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and London's Heathrow Airport. Jet Airways was the first private airline of India to fly to international destinations.

Jet Airways has international services to Katmandu, Colombo, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, London Heathrow, operating from Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.

Jet Airways and Air Sahara are the only private airlines which survived the Indian business downturn of the 1990s. On January 19, 2006 Jet Airways announced that it would buy Air Sahara; this will be the biggest takeover in India's aviation history. The resulting airline will be the country's largest. [2]

In July 2006 Jet Airways will be expanding its route network from the north Indian city of Amritsarto London, on a daily basis.
Following approval to begin long-haul operations to London, Jet Airways sub-leased 3 Airbus A340-300E from South African Airways.

Jet Airways has an order for 10 Airbus A330-200 aircraft (with options on a further 10 aircraft) as well as an order for 10 Boeing 777-300ER. Deliveries are due to begin early in 2007, although the airline will become the first Indian A330 operator in May 2006, with the delivery of an aircraft on lease from International Lease Finance Corporation. [3]

The Jet Airways fleet consists of the following aircraft (as of March 2006):

2 Boeing 737-900
21 Boeing 737-800
13 Boeing 737-700
6 Boeing 737-400
8 ATR-72-500
3 Airbus A340-300
Total - 53 aircraft

The average age of Jet Airways fleet is 5.2 years in April 2006.

Jet Airways has alliances with the following airlines:

British Airways
Lufthansa
KLM
Northwest Airlines
South African Airways
Qantas
Gulf Air
Jet Airways also has check in arrangements in place with over 14 International airlines."

You will think i have taken offence, and to an extent you are right, i have. Your comments about the airline and the CEO are baseless. Anyways, thats how i feel.

Cheers
Deaphen

Dear Deaphen,

I am sorry to have offended you, no hard feelings I hope. I should have added a wink to to that post!

I have flown on Jet Airways many times, and have always been impressed by the excellence of their service. My post is not a put down of 9W. On the other hand, I wish they would work on their corporate image since they are now competing internationally. I know how proud Indians are of companies that have struggled against incredible odds (such as Infosys) and have shown themselves to be world players.

I think on a.net you will find many of us indulging in good-natured ranting - we believe that this is how things get noticed and improve. At the same time, we also need to be sensitive to fellow a.netters who may work at the companies we bitch about!

There are really two ways to look at 9W. If you took a sympathetic and admiring view, you are being a cheerleader, which is important. On the other hand, as a customer of 9W, if their corporate image drives me batty, shouldn't they know so that they can do something about it? AI used to be the top transatlantic airline a few decades ago, and I hope that 9W can snatch back the crown someday.

Peace.  wink
