AirTran's stock, AAI, has dropped appx. $5.59 with a closing on Friday at $12.82 from a high of $18.41 back in March. This is an appx. 30% drop in value of the stock. Anybody have any significant reasons why? I know they had a samll quarterly loss but it was very small especially compared to the rest of the US carriers. Normally, AirTran is very conservative in their approach to expansion, etc. but is some expansion due to help the stock value. Ultimately the best reason for the market to up the value is profitability but overall they have been a very stable and incremental growth stock that has performed well. Just somewhat disturbing seeing the stock drop as such. Any suggestions or insight into their stock would be appreciated as I am holding on to a fair amount of shares.
