Air Berlin Punctuality

Sat May 27, 2006 4:15 am

I've noticed recently that the evening Air Berlin flight from STN to MAN is regularly late, usually about an hour or so. Why do they have such trouble operating this service to time and how do they cope with the passengers connecting at STN to other flights? Do connecting flights get held?

If the flight from STN to MAN is late, how does that influence passengers going outbound STN to other destinations?

Because if it's an hour late into MAN it's an hour late out of MAN back to STN with passengers on AB connections.

You stated that it was the evening flight. I'm not really into either MAN or STN moments (I couldn't care less really) so it might be nightstopping in MAN. Why didn't you ask about the MAN-STN flight?

It definitely doesn't nightstop in MAN, it returns to STN. It may over night there, though. The MAN PM flight is operated by the same a/c which operates the AM flight, and it operates STN-MAN-STN-HAJ-STN-MAN-STN; so it may have a sector earlier or later to/from STN.

If you couldn't care less why have you bothered posting a snotty reply? The question I posed was quite straightforward - if you don't understand it then might I suggest you ask for clarification or just don't bother wasting everyone's time with the sort of reposnse you posted.

The evening AB STN - MAN - STN is often delayed because either the operating aircraft is late into STN from another sector or as is more often the case the VIE and PMI flights to STN are late and the MAN flight is held for them. As for pax on the MAN - STN who have connex out of STN with AB their flights are held as long as ness for them to connect. This is a problem also sometimes occurs on the morning flight as well.

Agree to the first thing. During summer they have a lot of a/c around for charter flights and the all over schedule has not much space for delays. So one after another follows and and the 5min delay in the early morning at DRS can be an hour in the evening at MAN.

Average on-time performance on AB isn't very high in general especially in the summer months.
