fascinating and very fine, thank you! The blue seats, especially, are very nice - along with blue carpet.
Do you have any pics of old scheme, to compare?

Brilliant, thanks for that. Any in-seat entertainment in business or is it literally just new fabric? Mind you, the personal DVD player's a nice touch.

I hope NZ60 on July the 14th is a refurbed one.

They look very nice and definately give the cabin a modern feel.

Wish they could change the the overhead lockers to give the 777 feel.

First Choice Airlines see to be one of the very few airlines that have changed the overhead lockers on there 767's when they have carried out an overhaul of their cabins after receiving them from Vietnam Airlines.

It definately goves the cabins a bigger and more modern feel, but assume this is quite an expense.

From the AINZ Website

If you are travelling on a B767 or B747 aircraft you can keep yourself entertained during your flight with your own personal TV system. Featuring nine channels of film and TV entertainment as well as a full audio selection of exclusively produced Air New Zealand audio shows.

Business Class customers on A320 aircraft can choose their own personal entertainment from a library of twenty DVD titles via your own handheld Panasonic DVD player powered by your in-seat power port and ten audio channels exclusively produced for Air New Zealand.

Is it me, or have they increased the padding in the economy seats? They looked awfully "thin" before, but now they suddenly look a whole lot comfier!

I like how the J cabin has the chocolate feeling like the rest of the fleet, gives a feeling of commonality. The Y cabin looks heaps better, more spacious and a newer feeling. The padding makes the seat look newer and more the new style seats on the 747 and 777.
Very nice change.

Looks great! Huge improvement. Dissapointment that there will be no personal entertainment in economy, but i guess they won't be in the fleet for that much longer.

I cannot help but think that those economy seats don't really look too comfortable: they're so flat... usually seats are somewhat rounded to adjust to the shape the backs people put into them...

But maybe that's just an optical impression and the seats themselves are actually quite comfortable.

I do have to agree, though, that the general look of the cabin is nice.

sorry, 77ER. I meant no offense. I obviously did not read it as a joke, and thought it a bit of a strange comment, on the evidence. I still can't find any indication in your post that of it being tongue-in-cheek (e.g. smiles). Now you have pointed it out, I can see what you mean.

It looks very nice, but what's the difference between the last two pictures? Is the second one premium economy or something like that or are they both economy (I guess they're both economy).
I've noticed also some legrests: on the second picture it seems only the first right windowseats have them and on the third picture the seat at the first row (right aisleseat). What's the deal with that? Special assigned seats for a crewrest?

and the legrest they all do but all of them have them on the back of the seat in front. bulkhead has it different since there's no seat to attach them to

Yes, once the 787s arrive... either 2008/9 if NZ leases some 788's or 2010 when the 789's arrive. The 763ERs are simply filling the gap in the meantime...which is why AVOD IFE etc is not being installed.

That might just be the lighting/angle of camera and like variables when the shot was taken... also, filled with people, it will look quite different. Empty aircraft always look rather sad to my eyes...!

Yes, it doesn't make economic sense to do a major upgrade of the 767-300s when they only have a few years service life left... we'll just have to "lump it" on the long routes in the meantime, and look forward to the 787s when they come.

I flew an NZ 763 from LAX to the Cook Islands two years ago. Great seats (in coach). They have a unique movement. Great service as well. I bet the 787 will be a real knockout.
Sad, though, to see 767's all over the world coming to an end.

NCG was in for its makeover last week. They are being put through the hangar fairly quickly, and should all be done in about a month or so.

OT , I know ... but I see you have changed your sig ! I relied on your signature to keep me updated on the 744 refit program , instead of searching for a topic I would just search by your username and there it was in front of me in a matter of seconds ... I feel deprived now Big grin ... so pleasetell me , is it just one a/c remaining to be done or two ?

Hi Kiwiandrew,

Sorry about my siggy, but it was getting to be too many characters, and not enough space, so I changed it to read 777 deliveries instead. ZK-NBS is in the hangar at the moment, and should be finished in about 3 weeks time, and then it will be SUH's turn, which is the LAST one to be refitted.

Thanks for your interest in the siggy though. I didn't realise that so many people were using it for that purpose....lol

The current plan is to have her finished by mid August. Don't take that as gospel, as it is likely to change either forward or back by a couple of weeks.

I thought they were going to add in a few extra TV screens in the refurnished 767's .. As its very difficult to see some of the screens on the 767 esp in the middle to rear part of the last section of y class..

They will be the second customer for the Heath Tecna 767 Nu-Look interior.
Their first plane will come to BF Goodrich (Tramco) late this summer to get the new interior installed.

LAN is the first customer with CC-CBJ in the hangar in SCL right now getting retrofit and complete cabin reconfiguration.

Too bad NZ didn't spring for the Heath package. It would definately give it the finishing touch to their new 767 cabin.
