Need Info: American MD80 Evacuation DFW

Sun May 28, 2006 8:00 am

I checked the discussion forums and Google but couldn't find any information on this incident:

http://www.myaviation.net/search/photo_search.php?id=00709579

It was recently, and might have been AA1147.

Cheers-- Jeff

Judging by the location and position of the fire truck, aircraft left front facing aft, and the fluid on the ground under the left engine, they had an engine problem, possibly a significant fuel leak or engine fire. Just speculation on my part though.

Didn't AS have a similar incident at SFO about a week ago?

The tailcone was jettisoned so the rear emergency slide could be used. APU is still in the aircraft.
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems with just potatoes.
