Steep Approach Into LCY

Wed May 31, 2006 5:35 am

Is the approach into London City Airport steep on both runways? Or is it just on the approach that oerflies the City and Canary Wharf? I am due to fly into LCY soon on a 146. Do you notice the steep approach when inside the cabin?

I would believe the approach is equally steep from both directions.

I surely notice it inside a F50.

I flew in to LCY last year with VLM on an F50, it was quite a steep approach from what I remember, we also bounced three times before settling down on the runway...very exciting approach and landing.

The approach is equally steep in both directions and yes it is noticeable in the cabin. The aircraft will maintain a level height until it intercepts the glideslope then it is nose down all the way to the threshold.
