US EMB190...Mainline Or Express?

Mon Jun 05, 2006 8:56 am

I was just flipping through the new US website and came across this page

http://www2.usairways.com/awa/content/aboutus/pressroom/fleet.aspx

Was the EMB190 ordered for express or mainline? I thought it was mainline.

Was I mistaken or was the webmaster?

Embraer 190 aircraft is mainline and piloted by US, not RP..

Embraer 170 aircraft is express but was supposed to be mainline; could be mainline as some are still on order after the E190 switch, I do believe..

The E-190s will be Mainline, Delivered in the New colors, and will not count twords the mainline fleet count. (ie don't count as growth)

Won't furloughed pilots be used? Like in the jets for jobs program that MidAtlantic had?

Absolutely....although when the time comes for furloughed pilots to fly the 190, they will be called recalled pilots.

No, the 190 is a mainline plane, operated by mainline crews. (Although MidAtlantic was operated by mainline crews too, it will not be a separate division like MDA was.)

You will find a lot of current 737/A320 F/O's go down to the 190 captain slot for better pay/seniority.

They have been converted to 190's, although there are options for the smaller planes.

Actually, all the orders/options that exist with Embraer have been converted to the Embraer 190 - for a total of 25 firm orders and 32 "orders subject to reconfirmation."

I think that speaks volumes about how uninterested US is in any further dealings with Republic Airways Holdings. They'd rather have the bigger jets operated by mainline pilots.
USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.

I never said the 190...specifically...but possibly 170s...and if your willing to buy that they would fly in Hawaii, is it hard to believe that mesa would fly them somewhere else? I could easily see mesa flying these aircraft under their own certificate, and wouldn't be surprized to see them fly for someone else such as NW...Soon we will flnd out I guess, hopefully I won't still work here!
