Lighter loads = smaller aircraft.

Are you sure it is for the whole month? We had been getting the -300 but had the -200 for a few weeks in May. July is peak season so I am highly suspicious that they are doing it for load reasons. We could fill a 747 out of BOS in the summer!

NW is getting such great loads right now I'd bet the -300s are just needed more on another route.

I won't complain...I'll head down to BOS every chance I can get to get some more NW A332s...bad news for people looking for seats, good news for spotters like me.

Hey, there should be no complaints! Last summer around this time, they changed from the A333 to the DC-10 - I think I was on the last Eastward flight of the 333 for the summer.

333 to 332... Not that shocking, right? Maybe that bigger jet is being used on a better performing route?
From what I've heard NW has been doing quite well on BOS-AMS (this was actually their first AMS route before the KLM/NW joint venture) so I'm also surprised to learn of them downsizing in the busy summer season.

Looks like it changes to a -200 around 24JUL for a couple of days and then back to the 300. -200 comes back again sporadically after that.

Its basically to cover for scheduled maintenance checks on the A330-300s. They have been rotating -300s into SIN where major checks are performed, via SEA-NRT-SIN routing in the place of -200s on Flt 7. MSP also sees occaisional -200s for the same reason. Both passenger and freight loads are very strong out of BOS.

Smaller C-class cabin, smaller M-class, but same PTVs as the -300.
