I've never had to stay at a hotel in SEA, but La Quinta Inn and Holiday Inn seem like they have good views. La Quinta is definetly the closest to the airport.

The Marriott has rooms that face the field. I've spotted from my room many times.

I just booked a room at the Radisson across the hotel for a layover on a mileage run. Looks like you might be able to get a view of the airfield (it's right across the street), but for me, on a 12-hour layover, it gives me internet access and a bed at a 3-star hotel for $100.

SEA was all fogged in when I was driving by last (on the way back from a San Diego-Everett/Whidbey Island-San Diego road trip) but there's a Motel 6 right across the street from the tower that isn't terrible.

I couldn't see s--- because of the fog, but with my scanner I could hear everything.

The Red Lion is now a Doubletree, which is very nice and they have good views of the runway if you can get a room facing towards the field. Also the Westcoast Gateway hotel is very near the airport, my Aunt stayed there and her room felt like being in the control tower. Both are nice, the Westcoast Gateway has a really great complimentary breakfast. Enjoy Seattle!
Cheers thanks a lot.

I always stay at the Double Tree Suites. That hotel is amazing but not close enough to see the runway good enough. About a 3 min drive to the airport. Great stay though.

The Marriott is a very nice hotel, not only in terms of spotting (you would have to ask for an airport facing room on one of the upper floors though). I particularly liked the atrium style of the hotel when I stayed there a few years ago.

The Radisson or the Doubletree face Terminal A...There used to be another Radisson that had a good view of the AS ramp, but it's not open any longer.
That's why we're here.
