AirTran Incident At SRQ 6-13

Sun Jun 18, 2006 4:37 am

Sorry, I dont know if this has been posted or not (I did do a search). Apparently on 6-13-06, AirTran flight 525 operating ATL-SRQ had a wingtip impact the runway on landing. Damage was unknown. It did taxi to the gate. Does anyone know what the damage is on this? Also, was it windy in the 13th in SRQ? Any info is appreciated.

I did not hear about this.
They did have a tropical storm though.

I heard about it on the FAA web site. Nothing more then what was stated above. I sure would not have wanted to be on that flight when it Landed.....

banghead  What an idiot I am. I live in SAV and we had the storm blow through here too. It was rough here, so I cant imagine what it was like there. Although, all of our planes (Delta) landed and departed out of here fine.

This is the site I prefer for this kind of stuff. I keep seeing the FAA referred to everywhere as the "Federal Aviation Agency" or "Federal Aviation Authority", frequently even in newspapers. So I hit this site every once in a while to make sure the name hasn't actually been changed, like that of the GAO, which should have kept its original, much-less-political, name.  Smile
