Oasis Hong Kong ... What 744's They Getting?

Can anyone confirm its the 2 Air Atlanta 747-400's with Iberia, they are still flying but there is also talk of the 1st Oasis in the Hangar in SIN???

Anyone?

Anyone with a CAD contact know the reserved HK registrations they will be getting?

Does anyone know whether Air Atlanta operated TF-AMI, 747-412? I remember reading it went to them and ferried down to South American but never saw any pics or anything. That was last year already!

From a March edition of Flight International:

"Used 747s find home at Oasis Long-haul start-up carrier Oasis Hong Kong Airlines has acquired two used Boeing 747-400s, moving it a step closer to launching services.Oasis has purchased two ex-Singapore Airlines 747-400s from Deucalion Capital, which is owned by Germany’s DVB Bank. The aircraft, which were built in 1989, are due for delivery in July, after which they will undergo maintenance. The 747-400s are currently in service with Iberia, which is wet-leasing them from Air Atlanta."

Based on the above, it does not surprise me that the aircraft might be in SIN undergoing some maintenance work prior to delivery to Oasis HK. The aircraft are both ex-SIA aircraft, hence why they would be in SIN for maintenance.

I can't wait to see the Oasis HK plane parked at gate 1 at OAK. Also the sight of the 747-400 landing at OAK or take off. I've seen cargo 747's or UA planes maintenained. But a passenger jet will have a different feel.

One more point to add, to TL925, actually, the planes will undergo maintenance in Singapore not because the aircraft are ex-SQ aircraft. Its because HAECO (Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company) doesn't have free slot to overhaul the plane.

Yes these are the aircraft - formerly SIA 1989 build aircraft.

First to be delivered to Oasis in July apparently.
Just when I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, it was some B*****d with a torch bringing me more work

Not always the case.
Ex-SQ planes have been getting heavy maintenance all over the world.
Six either have been at, or will be coming to XMN for example.

Thanks. Looking forward to see the scheme. There are a few clues on what the colour scheme could be, but nothing about the overall scheme at all. Their website has not been updated for ages. Looking forward to hearing some details!

Perhaps I was a bit unclear about my wording earlier. Both aircraft were originally put on lease by SIA with Air Atlanta Icelandic, before being sold, and the current maintenance work is likely due to the lease expiry with Air Atlanta Icelandic. If I'm not mistaken, the maintenance work on the aircraft during the Air Atlanta Icelandic lease was always still being done in SIN.

As far as work to be done before delivery to Oasis, that could either be done while the aircraft is already on the ground in SIN, or perhaps after the Air Atlanta Icelandic lease expiry at a different location.

Their overall scheme had been changing and changing, a lot of variations had been designed, and have not been finalized yet.
The HK government seems to have some problem with a 'bauhinia' scheme (like its logo) because apparently it resembles the Hong Kong flag too much...

so lets wait and see !

To N754PR, haha, I guess you will have to wait for a bit longer, coz the aircraft will arrive in Singapore for heavy maintenance sometime around mid July, and probably won't appear in Hong Kong until like August.... don't know the exact schedule though....

So how about a hazy grey scheme all over, that will show a true Hong Kong look...... sad to say that but in general its true.

Expect a big red flower on the tail most likely - probably with a white fusalage...

Agree... a few days ago the smog in Chek Lap Kok was so heavy that one can see haze WITHIN the aircraft hanger itself.... sad...
