New Service From PDX

Hi everybody this is my first post. I was bored and I came across this on wikipedia about pdx. It says that United is going to start service to Honolulu in late 2006, does anyone know about this?

This is very interesting, but I have never heard of this announcement...I wonder if this is a mistake................................Don't get me wrong..I would love to see more service out of PDX............

SEA and SAN are getting 1x weekly service to HNL this year, however I haven't seen anything about PDX. Maybe wikipedia is wrong?

I read something about it recently. Did a quick websearch and couldn't find it but I don't think it will be daily.
I'm leavin on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again....

Could PDX support a 3rd carrier on the route? I'll bet that it's a mistake.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also.

With it being Saturday only it's not really a huge increase in seats.

And a huge percentage of the seats have been bought by tour operator Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays.

I was wondering if it was a mistake as well when I was reading the PDX wikipedia entry the other day. couldn't find anything official though.

Perhaps UA operating SEA/PDX-HNL flights could be a pre-emptive strike against Alaska's future Hawaiian plans, considering PDX & SEA are dominated by AS.

Here is UA's press release announcing expanded service to Hawaii. No mention of PDX - Wikipedia is incorrect on this one.

Yeah, I couldn't find anything on it either. If Pleasant Hawaiian has bought a truckload of seats, I wonder if it's operating more on a charter basis?

It's already been fixed by someone - that's Wikipedia for ya  Wink
USAir A321 service now departing for SFO with fuel stops in CAK, COS and RNO. Enjoy your flight.
