How Is KLM's 2x/day EWR-AMS Doing?

Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:26 am

This is the first time that I can think of that KLM is flying twice a day between EWR and AMS (1x A330-200 and 1x 777-200).

Anybody know how the flights are doing in terms of loads and more importantly, are they making money for KLM?

I flew on the EWR-AMS on June 22, and the flight was packed! Not a single seat empty even in WBC!! Their service is fine, and the IFE on the A330 is great; even nicer than on NWA A330.

I am not sure how the B777 flight is doing, but I would imagine they are getting fuller too.

The second daily flight is only operating twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, so I don't think we can call KL's AMS-EWR a twice daily service. KLM is operating 9 weekly services between AMS and EWR and for the upcoming winter season that number will drop to ZERO as NW will take over the daily AMS-EWR service and the twice weekly additional service will not operate during the winter.
