PK's 772LR: Ever Go Non-stop From JFK

Thu Jun 29, 2006 11:55 am

Do you guys think sooner or later PK will go non-stop from JFK to one of the two major airports in Pakistan? Or will MAN be their focal point? By the way do the 772LR's have PTV's?

I thought that the went non stop to Pakistan but had to stop coming to the USA because of security reasons at least that is what I read in another thread.

This topic has been discussed to death. PK cannot fly anywhere in to the US non stop because of security reasons.

They do have PTVs with AVOD as well.

Though myself not involed in almost all of those discussions, non stop flights from Karachi have no problem and Lahore is improving to get rid of the problems.

That´s what I wonder too: does PKs 72LR fly non-stop JFK-Pakistan? I know they stop in MAN for security reason to the US. If not, whats the point of flying 72LR and not the -ER?

Canada has no such problems. The Toronto flight comes in nonstop from Lahore.

There are actually three different flights to Toronto and all are operated by their B772LRs.

PK789 operates KHI-LHE-YYZ on Tuesdays
PK781 operates KHI-ISB-YYZ on Fridays
PK783 operates KHI-YYZ on Sundays

YYZ - ISB 11010 Km
KHI - YYZ 11691 Km

PK dont need the -LR for these non-stop route to Canada, -ER does a great job with them, or is this due to season flights: winter sced. 72-LR, summer sced. 72-ER?? Throwing out a wild guess here..

Once the CAA and FAA resolve their issues (which they are), as well as PK getting enough qualified pilots/FA's, then we should see the Pakistan-USA nonstop flight...

regarding the PTV's...click on the

Anything over 5000nm, the -200LR has an advantage over the -200ER...plus, from what I've heard, PK got a good deal on those two frames....

Could it possibly be that the MAN pasengers add to the load greatly? Combining the two equals a full load maybe?
