Basically, WN has already brought down fares enough that there's no reason for B6 to be there. I don't think that B6 is 'afraid' of WN or vice versa as both are very popular with Long Islanders (B6 - more Nassau County, WN - more Suffolk County) and they would have no problem filling up their planes. I just don't think $79 fares to MCO is going to make anyone money.

Why doesnt B6 go into HPN white plains airport and bring prices down...Are there some other types of restrictions I have overlooked?

EDIT: Other than WN living there why has B6 avoided ISP?
|Quoting ScottB (Reply 7):|
Yes, there are, I believe, restrictions imposed by the county on how many passengers may use the terminal per hour. Southwest would have gone into HPN years ago if the airport's restrictions weren't so severe.

Why doesnt B6 go into HPN white plains airport and bring prices down. Many of the residents in the area already love Jetblue out of Kennedy and would be thrilled to fly a 320 or even the ERJ over the other props and commuter jets. Are there some other types of restrictions I have overlooked?

Growing up all my life 6 miles from HPN, the airport indeed has always had hurdles, mostly from my town of Greenwich CT. There is a hourly pax cap and not much room to grow. The terminal before was just a hut that was added on to. They built a beautiful terminal, but I think it was kept purposely small to inhibit any further growth ( anyone who has been in the gate area knows exactly what I mean)
On paper, I am sure many airlines would love to start service there. B6 could have definitely profited from an HPN-Florida market route. I remember as a kid Air Florida served the airport.

B6 could probably make a little bit of money at ISP, but not much, due to the fact that WN already has very low fares. And as someone said, while B6 is very popular in Nassau County and the city, WN has many loyal fliers in Suffolk. IMHO, B6 has MUCH bigger fish to fry than ISP (cough MIDWEST cough).

I was going to ask about Stewart in this post but I just figured it would be way too out of the way for someone to drive just to save a few $$$ as opposed to flying out of JFK, LGA or EWR. I would imagine Stewart being a good destination route.
