not bad actually - you really get a sense of 'barbell' when they grow the route-map in the commercials.

really impressive ads! Though I have never seen such cross-brand promotion in an ad before, not just in airlines, but in any industry. Are Coke, DHL, etc. essentially endorsing US? I bet the General Counsels of all those companies had some fun dealing with the approval process for these ads. I would love to hear DL's reaction that a senior exec at Atlanta-based Coca Cola is on a US ad!

but all in all, I think they're really effective, very well done ads. kudos to US, I hope their revamped airline succeeds.

I love the commercials. They remind me of the way airlines advertised in the '80s, actually promoting service rather than just low fares. The tarmac shots are vaguely reminiscent of some of the last Piedmont commercials.

Very classy and well done, US!

I am impressed... I havent flown US in about 2 years, though they were my favourite airline. I now fly AA for convenience but I do miss US.

Now one question, is that their new Theme song? Tell me they didn't got rid of transformations...

I watched some of them. Some were okay, some were downright stupid. Especailly Coca-Cola, Lawyer's Foundation for Diversity and PetSmart. Were they reading their lines off of teleprompters? The new theme music isn't all that bad, but I liked the last two better. All in all, fairly stupid.

The money is to be made by the corporate customers and flying their personnel first class. If these people endorsing the airline can demonstrate the airlines reliability and that they represent good value, (which I think they have done well) I think the business community will take note.

I wonder how the adverts were paid for... For Example, as these other companies got to advertise their businesses, would they have contributed to the cost of the commercial?

I really like the music and adverts, and really give the airline a nice corporate identity.

I wonder how many people speaking in the ads fly US Airways, in coach?  Wink

So can someone verify if this is indeed the new Theme Music? A friend of mine flew US last week, and said it was the same music as before, but seeing as he isn't much of an aviation buff, I am not sure if I can take his word for it. SOAC.. where are you?

Normally I'd say "that's your opinion", but in this case, you're wrong. These are great ads all around.

Lawyer's Foundation for Diversity

You mean the Lawyer's Committee for Civil Rights Under Law? Maybe you didn't like them because you didn't watch them? A thought...

Anyways, they did an excellent job. I'm especially fond of the choreographed fly-bys to end each commercial. Well done (and difficult!).

But, my question remains... What happened to the Spirit of Pittsburgh?! Bring it back! Just because the hub is being defocused doesn't mean you can't use the song!

It would have been nicer if they had a 757 N/C doing a take off instead of the A319. Otherwise great commercials!

FREE ad exposure for their corporate endorsement. These commercials are afterall aimed at business travelers.

The spots though are well done, clean and fresh, great branding.

They are ok, but I find it funny how a couple companies who have large business in Asia say they fly US Airways. Also, is that the only Coca-Cola guy that flies US Airways, because I always see Coca-Cola execs on DL and other SkyTeam members.

As you can see by my new signature, I love the new ads. As I've said again and again, I love the direction the new US Airways is heading in. This is exactly the kind of pro-employee, pro-customer management the airline always deserved. My favorite ads will always be the "USAir begins with you" campaign from 1992-1995, the song was so catchy and it really started the turnaround of the airline, but this is a close second.

That's exactly the kind of service the new US wants, casual, but professional. I think it works great.

I remember those ads. Ironically, my first time on an airplane was with USAir in October of 1992... I wonder what their campaign ads were from the '80s just out of curiosity...

That is one bit of info I wish I had access to. But I've never seen a USAir ad from the '80s. I know their slogan was "fly the USA on USAir" but that's really about it.

It is indeed the new theme music. And while it is nice, I prefer the older one myself.

Although you friend is correct too. The old theme music is on the safety video, or at least it was the last time I flew a video-equiped plane.

Guess one has to define "new"commericals, same format as the Were on Board America West commericals. For those in the Phoenix area they commericals have been playing on the Diamondbacks games for over a month now.Guessing they were done at Roswell, where the planes are being painted.

This was most likely part of the deal to go with Coke as the beverage lineup on US over Pepsi. Coke gets free exposure and a contract with US, while US gets a major travel endorsement from a high exec at a major company. A win-win for these two companies.

These are fresh and different, show the huge reach of the combined carrier, and cross-brand with some of the best in the USA. I like the fact that the aircraft actually make noise, unlike in every other airline commercial, and you see action and competence and quality. I think that they're very well done.

One funny note: the DHL aircraft shown is a 757, which DHL doesn't fly in the US. Oh, well.

The connection between US and the supporting companies is weak and forced. But the planes look great and the route map looks even better.

I think all of these A-Netters just love it because there is a plane in the commercial; as soon as they see a jet, they get aroused, after that, nothing else matters  Big grin Holy cow, did you see that A319?

It does seem a bit forced but the route map looks awesome.

I think they should go for a commercial where the route map animation is slowed down to the point where it takes a full 30 seconds to develop - ending with US "banner" text and graphics shown on the site. I think it would be cool and different enough to catch someone's attention.

The effect I'm envisioning would be kind of like the "Universal" movie intro that's devoid of sound and lets the animation speak for itself.
