In connection with the service reduction on GRU-DFW route (from 12x to 7x weekly), American Airlines Sales Director (Mr. Vercosa) in Brazil confirmed today that AA will increase their daily service to Rio de Janeiro by 5 new weekly flights on march 2007. Flights will be also operated with 763.
During the high season AA will also reduce service to Sao Paulo from 21x weekly to 19x weekly in order to run 14x weekly Rio-Miami. After the high season, GRU will return to 21x weekly and GIG to 12x weekly.
As per Mr. Vercosa comments, Rio de Janeiro demand is nowadays bigger for these flights and São Paulo could receive extra flights only if the market needs. Rio is also a station where AA does not made any discount fare this year on their Net Savings.
