I don't know really, haven't heard anything from a good friend who flies with them. I will send an e-mail immediately to check what's going on!

CAT received notice back in April they were no longer needed for UPS Menlo operation in DAY. In fact, I think today is the last day of the operation. I know CAT was agressively trying to establish ACMI contracts elsewhere.

For some reason June 30th is in my mind for the first phase (Domestic) of the facility closing.

Tucson Report-Every morning a CAT 727 lands at Tucson International Airport. Yesterday when my WN flight was taxing towards the gate around 4:00 in the afternoon, the CAT plane was in the cargo area, next to a Sierra Pacific 737-200.

Looks like they ferried a few airplanes to OPF today for storage.

That is not a good sign.

Well, they ferried at least one more 727 to OPF about a few months ago. I remember seeing it on approach from the Metrobus I was riding. They still kept flying after that, so let's just hope that this is a temporary reduction in capacity.

Wow, come to think of it, I haven't seen the usual 727 at AUS lately. Can anyone confirm the furlough of the pilots? We are getting an extra flight today at AUS, did other companies already get their business?

Confirmed without a job  Sad so sorry to hear that, it's difficult to find a good position even when you have lots of hours and experience.

That "other" company is UPS. We are finally flying "our" own freight instead of it being outsourced to a bottomfeeder ACMI.

You really don't want to store your planes in OPF,too humid. Maybe they will be scrapped . Too bad, they flew into ROC from DAY all the time . We don't get UPS here, wonder who will replace them?

Nobody will be replacing them in ROC. Volume will be flown to either BUF or SYR and trucked to ROC.

Without those "bottom feeders", UPS would never be able to handle the Christmas time rush.

That 727 has been sitting in the same spot for 3 weeks.
