Sorry if it has been discussed before but I would like to have more information about Rome Ciampino.
From What I have heard Ciampino is far closer to Rome than Fiumincino. Though Fiumincino has always been the main airport a few years ago Ryanair and Easyjet settled for Ciampino.
My question is why do other low costs fly to Fiumincino? A quick look at todays departures from Ciampino reveals the following: Only Easyjet, Ryanair, Happag-Lloyd express and Blue air use it.
Why no other airlines? Wouldn't it be better for the likes of Air Berlin and Virgin-Express to use it? Faster turnaround times, I assume cheaper landing fees, closer to the city center than Fiumincino...
