Remote Gates In Hkg

Sat Jul 01, 2006 6:58 pm

I've heard that boarding at gates 5-8, 10-13 in HKG means you have to take a bus to the remote stands. Can anyone confirm this?

By the way, which airlines usually utilize these gates?

Cant remember the gate numbers but remote boarding can be VN, MU, N8, UO and others if the airport is very busy after a thunderstorm / Typhoon etc.

I've only done it once for a MU MD90 flight to Hangzhou.

For your information 6 remote bays on the North apron will close soon for construction of a remote terminal for 737 size planes with airbridges and underground connection to the main terminal.

Once a while Cathay Pacific will have planes parked in the remote bay and passenger commence boarding there too.
