Top 5 Operators Of The Following Aircraft

Wed Jul 05, 2006 11:44 pm

I have lately been editing Wikipedia articles on top operators of aircraft, and now I would like to know who are the top 5 operators for the following aircraft. Both passenger and cargo airlines count.

Boeing:
  • 717 (Airtran is probably #1)
  • 737 (WN is probably #1)

Airbus:
  • A300
  • A310
  • A320 series
  • A330
  • A340

MD:
  • DC-10 (FedEx is probably #1)
  • MD-11 (FedEx is also probably #1)

I have successfully done the 747, 757, 767, and 777.

Northwest would be very near the top for both the 320 and 330.

Boeing 717: AirTran is #1 with 87 in service. Midwest is a distant 2nd with 25.
I work for Southwest, but the views expressed are my own and do not necessarily represent those of Southwest.

On the DC-9 article, the format is a bit different, since the article covers the DC-9, MD-80, and the MD-90. I simply put the largest operators of each, with NW being the largest DC-9 operator, American being the largest MD-80 operator, and Delta being the largest MD-90 operator.

Recommendation: airlinerlist.net's spreadsheets list operators in order of size at the bottom of each.

Delta being the largest MD-90 operator

Almost positive this is not true.

I think you're right and believe Saudi has more MD90s than DL.

Why not do some research on the internet and in the airline's annual reports and get the correct information to answer your questions?

A330s?

Cathay + Dragon = 41 A333 / 15 A343 / 3 A346
= biggest operator of A333s and biggest combined A330/A340 fleet.

Delta being the largest MD-90 operator.

Delta is not the largest MD-90 operator, that title goes to Saudia.

US/HP could take the top for the 320 series. Combined, they have 208 321/320/319s.

Once the site was mentioned, I actually updated all the Airbus aircraft myself.
