Snapshot: N Amer OAG Trivia 1980

Thu Jul 06, 2006 2:18 am

Another auction so more trivia, this time from the May 1980 N American OAG.

Fresno, Monterey and Santa Barbara all had nonstops to Chicago; New Yorkers could fly nonstop LGA-MPV, EWR-MGJ, and JFK-MSV. Coleman flew a Gulfstream I nonstop Rockford to DTW.

This time I checked which airports had scheduled nonstop flights (at least once weekly) to DEN in the 1980 OAG and compared to 2006 (the June Worldwide OAG). The 1980 OAG is a North American, but (since the Western DC-10 to LGW hadn't started then) it must include all DEN's flights-- right?

Nonstop in 1980, not in 2006:

CNE CIG CSE FTC FWA
GRR HOU LAA LXV SDF
MAF PIA RWL MBS SLN
SNY SUX SBN SBS STK
TOL WHR ALO

WRL Worland was to start 1 June 1980; no nonstop there in 2006.
