I like the current one slightly better but this good too. It looks whiter to me but that could be the picture. If Virgin America start flying the two will look like almost the same airline!

Looks like they are using the Virgin America style livery then, only with union jack wing tips.

Not much change seems pretty pointless IMO

Is that official?

Will the fuselage become white or do they stick to the silver and just change the tail?

I can assure you the picture is from inside VS and as far as I am aware not "classified". And fuselage stays silver, font and tail changed.

Sorry, but can't see that much of a change from the current one, although I understand it's not official and is possible to change.

The only change is the font and tail  Smile

Personaly I dont think it is as bad as I thought it would be when it was mentioned  Smile

I still prefer the current tail, or even the "Birthday Girl" tail  Smile

i thought the purple border on the tail added solidity to the image and focussed the eye better. Seems like a retrograde step.

A definate improvement...rid of that out-of-place blue-frame-thing.

The titles also look a bit larger (if the photo is accurate).

Kudos to Virgin for a much improved livery. A simple tweak and it all looks much better...

Is there a chance therefore that other Virgin brands will be modifting there liveries? (virgin blue, express, nigeria etc...)

As i said earlier it matches the new Virgin America livery

I prefer the current one, the purple frame on the tail looks excellent, and the titles are just right.

I was wondering the other day when we could expect a new VS livery.

Well the VIrgin America A320 has that same livery (minus the fake metal fuselage paint ) and looks terrible.

The current livery seems to me more interesting and classier = better.

In another thread, which I can't track down now, someone in the know said that yes, VirginBlue would be changing. Presumably Virgin Nigeria will as well. The Virgin Express brand is going to disappear soon, thanks to the merger with SN Brussels, so I doubt we'll see any change there.

I suspect it is just a mistake in the picture - the Virgin America livery has all its 'i's dotted, so to speak...

I totally agree with you on this. The new livery is a slight change but makes the livery itself look fresh. I would have liked to see some waves going through the tail like DL has but not exactly the same, just the waves in the tail logo and keep it the way it is now (with the shape an all).

Good luck to VS!

Now, will this modified livery be done on D checks, or sooner?

I didn't mind the purple frame, but I did find it to look a bit clunky, and not as well interpreted on the various fleet types between divisions.

what they should do, is get rid of their hideous interior color scheme. It makes you really feel sick. How did they come up with this anyway? It's worse than the BA carpet style uniforms.

Hey

I really do prefer the current Virgin Atlantic livery, the tail stands out and there is nothing else like it around (outside the Virgin group I mean)…

I think the new livery (if that picture is correct) looks quite plain, maybe in real life it will look better. I can’t help but feel that on the Airbus A340’s that have a smaller tail the new livery will look even more bland!

As for Virgins cabin colours, I have flown in Upper many times and I love the colours as do many passengers (so Virgin’s passenger surveys confirm).

And as for British Airways carpet style uniforms, as far as airline uniforms go, they are very well respected!

Dana.

The aircraft you have an image for is G-VFAB otherwise known as Birthday Girl...

She is keeping her "birthday" livery (as far as i'm aware). Abeit loosing the balloon and rear mounted flying maiden. Which explains your image.

I personally like the new livery... Are they going to change the liveries on all Virgin planes? The company would look alot better with that more uniform look to all their aircraft, no matter where they fly

At the most this is a minor amendment to the scheme.

VS sure has gone through several liveries in the span of 5-6 years! This livery looks more like their original one. The current scheme is more eye catching but it is a little harsh on the eyes at times. Hopefully they will repaint the fleet quickly so that they have a uniform product. I can't stand it when half of the fleet is new and half of the fleet is old.
