Inflight Gaming

Sat Jul 08, 2006 1:25 pm

It may not be politically correct, but........

Why not try inflight gaming as a way to generate some extra revenue. Adult entertainment(IFE) would also be an option for those wanting to enjoy that type of thing.

It has been done before - I believe Swissair introduced it, but withdrew it in the wake of the wiring issues that cropped up out of the SR111 crash. I know Ryanair have talked about it; O'Leary went as far as suggesting the revenue could be enough to cover the costs of running the airline, and all the seats could be free.

As for adult entertainment, I think this is less likely - there will be issues about preventing minors from being able to see it, and it would all be too much of a hassle I would imagine.

Just to clarify what I was referring to with Swissair and Ryanair, and what I am pretty sure the thread starter was referring to, I meant gaming as in gambling, not video games...

Adult entertainment

How do you think people will view such films without
people such as myself, who want absolutely nothing to
do with them being forced to watch them as well?
I don't know about you, but I would be pretty uncomfortable
sitting next to someone enjoying that sort of thing.
It's just not really practical.

I am no prude by any means (!!!!!!), but the first time I sit next to Bubba doing Boilermakers and watching Debbie Does Everybody, I'm moving!

I can only hope you had some other sort of "adult entertainment" in mind.

On the other hand, the gaming option makes a little more sense. I can just imagine lawsuits, however, when someone loses their house payment and blames the airline on "fixing" the games.
